Male Breast Reduction Insurance Issue
Here's what someone had to say about after costs:
This may be a little off base for this subject, but I want you to avoid the problems I have. We all go in and get a quote for surgery, and decide what we can afford. I have never heard anyone else complain about this, but my doctor didn't inform me that I would have a signifigant bill after the surgery. I was billed $950 for processing my tissue sample. After the I brought this to my PS' attention, he pulled out a form that shows fine print stating that there "may" be additional bills for tissue samples. That is BS, because the word "may" should be switched with "definately". I found out it is a state law in Illinois that all tissue samples that are removed from somone get tested for cancer. So, my $950 lab bill should have been placed as a line item on my PS' estimate. Now, I am stuck with this huge bill and I am trying to get my insurance to pick it up. I made this post so you can ask your doctors or the hot chick in their office who handles their finances, to inform you of all potential charges. It is a shame, because I really liked my PS, personally. My surgery was marginal, but he stood behind his work and gave me a revision. This part leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
